Figures of Color


Photographs emphasizing the beauty of stark Blackness. My intention with this project was not initially political, but to unabashedly assert a style. Motivated by the paintings of Alex Gardner, I set out to echo that painterly style in photography.
    In 2021, large scale prints for this series were shown at the Red Arrow Gallery in Nashville. This work was also shown at The Parthenon, the Silver Eye Center for Photography, and the National Museum of African American Music.
