Black Lives Matter.

Throughout the month of June, I left quarantine to go document the unrest in Philadelphia surrounding the murder of George Floyd. I wanted to stand in solidarity with the activists who are fighting systematic racism in America, and support Black Lives Matter. One of the most riveting moments of the protests was watching a black man stand inches from an officer’s face with his hands up. The stillness was distressing and intense. There were some heavy moments, but most of the demonstrations were peaceful. The Juneteenth celebrations at Malcolm X Park filled me with a sense of hop and confidence for the black community.
